A self portrait photo series
This is part 2 of my my 3-part photo series. I'm turning 30 soon. It's kind of a big deal, after turning 13, 16, 18, and 21. I really love my 20s and still wish I could look like I'm 23. But I'm not, so I reminiscing on my younger years, remembering my 20s, and celebrating this new decade!
As I near the age of 30, I can't help but think of everything I've learned, experienced and overcame in my 20s. Great moments happened in my 20s. I graduated college, got my (at the time) dream job, moved across the country, visited new states and countries, fell in love, bought a house, got married, changed careers.... The list can go on and on.
My 20s were a period of just figuring out life as an adult. I'm hoping that, for the most part, I can spend my 30s enjoying life, doing the activities I couldn't in my youth, and living life to the fullest. But now it's time to say good-bye and remember to my youthful self (although, let me be frank, I will always feel and sometimes act like I'm 23!). That's why I I held a funeral for my 20s. Sadly, my 20s are going away, and sadly never coming back.
As I remember my youthful time, I also decided to pop some champagne, to honor that time in my life, and to celebrate this new decade!
We had some good times, and some bad times. We made lots of memories and went on lots of adventures. But now it's time to kiss my 20s goodbye, and say, "Hello 30!"
